Engaging A Qualified Person (QP)

The role of a QP


  1. Assess and endorse the feasibility of the proposed works
  2. Assist in the lodgement or building plan submissions
  3. Certify the completed works complying with the following:
    • Structural integrity and safety of the structures erected within the premises as well as the building.
    • Regulatory and statutory requirements.

Registered QPs


For easy reference, registered QPs who have previously carried out similar additions & alterations works in industrial premises are listed here.

The full register of QPs can be found on the Professional Engineers (PE) Board website at www.peb.gov.sg under the heading ”Directory of Professional Engineers”.  Alternatively, tenants / lessees may obtain a "Listing of Practitioners” personally from the PE Board at 5 Maxwell Road, 1st Storey MND Complex, Singapore 069110.

For the services of an Architect, you can access the Board of Architects’ website at www.boa.gov.sg.

Instruction to QP for structural works


Duty of QP

The QP engaged by the lessee / registered tenant shall be responsible for the design, supervision of construction, stability and safety of the proposed work.


QP and Accredited Checker (AC) Endorsements

QP and AC Endorsements shall be in accordance with the Guidelines for Submission of Record Structural Plans as shown in the Building and Construction Authority (BCA)'s website at http://www.bca.gov.sg.
